Shoulder Pain after Tennis

Can I Play Tennis with Shoulder Pain?

That is entirely dependent on you as an individual, the questions you should ask are; does playing tennis make the shoulder pain worse? Is the shoulder pain only bought on by playing tennis or is it exacerbated by other activities? Rate the pain whilst playing on a scale of 1 (minimal) to 10 (excruciating), if you’re consistently above a 2 or 3 it is time to be sensible, adopt a rehab plan using the shoulder fix video series and get that shoulder fit for purpose.

How to Prevent Shoulder Pain When Playing?

If you’re playing competitive tennis at any level you will likely need specific attention in order to keep playing to the best of your ability. This may include time away from tennis in order to rehab properly and give the shoulder the opportunity to repair and improve.

Tennis is an explosive sport and your shoulder needs to have the mobility necessary to perform thumping forehands and backhands whilst having the stability to produce delicate lobs or drop shots. No two shots are exactly the same so your shoulder needs a wide array of movement capabilities.

Pain is your brains way of telling you a joint, ligament or tendon is coming to the end of its ability to deal with stress. Using our shoulder fix video series, you can identify exactly what movements your body is inefficient at performing well and turn those weaknesses into strengths by having a specific shoulder rehab routine unique to you and your shoulder.

Are Shoulder Problems in Tennis because of Rotator Cuff Weakness?

Not entirely, the group of four rotator cuff muscles have become a catch all for shoulder pain, much like the term ‘sciatica’ has become a diagnosis for any issues down the leg. There is much, much more to your shoulder than just your rotator cuff and the shoulder fix video series analyses scapula (shoulder blade) motion as well as glenohumeral joint (ball and socket) and clavicle (collarbone) function to give you a complete rehab plan unique to you and your shoulder.

Don’t waste hours spent searching for ‘the best’ shoulder rehab routine, trolling through thousands of exercises. From the comfort of your own home use our step by step, easy to follow process to guide you to a specific routine relative to your pain and take back control of your pain, your shoulder and continue to do the things you love.
